Evisa Online Application Process
You have to apply online, and once the application is approved, you will be able to access the Home Office’s – view and prove system, which is used as proof of their status.
In order to make the application, an individual needs:
1. You will need a smartphone
2. A mobile telephone number
3. An email address
4. Your BRP card or a valid passport with your BRP number or visa application number
Creating an account
The application is online.
Confirming identity
Once an application account is created, you are asked to download and swap to a mobile application to 1) scan their identity document and 2) take a new photo.
You need to have:
1. An iPhone 7 or newer model or
2. An android phone that can make contactless payments
You will be asked to scan your identity documents, such as your existing biometric residence permit, in the process.
At the moment there is also no option to upload the photo instead of taking it in the app.
Fortunately, the app does allow you to bypass the warning to submit the photograph; this should resolve any issues.
You might need to wait a few days for the ID to be confirmed before you can proceed with your application.
Linking your eVisa to your UKVI account
After your ID is confirmed, the process then moves back to the gov.uk website to allow individuals to enter personal details that they will use to access their account.
Once the application is submitted, it might take 10 days before you are notified if the application has been successful.
