Why Choose an Experienced Probate Solicitor?
Handling probate can be time-consuming and stressful, especially when managing deadlines, legal filings, and financial obligations. Our team ensures that all paperwork is correctly filed, preventing delays and unnecessary complications.

Save time and reduce stress
Ensure compliance with legal requirements
Prevent costly errors that could delay estate distribution

Our Fees & Disbursements

Fixed Fee Structure
We charge a fixed fee ranging from 1.25% to 1.5% of the estate’s value, depending on its complexity. Once we have reviewed specific details, we provide a precise and tailored fee estimate.

Disbursements (Third-Party Costs)
Aside from legal fees, certain third-party costs (disbursements) apply. These typically include:
Probate application fee – £273 + £1.50 per sealed copy
Bankruptcy Search Fee – £6 per search
London Gazette & Local Newspaper Notice – Approx. £400 + 20% VAT (to protect against claims from unknown creditors)
Surveyor’s Fees for Property Valuation – Typically £150+ VAT, but varies

How Long Does Probate Take?

In a straightforward case, probate can take six to twelve months from instruction to estate distribution. However, delays can occur if:
– Documents are missing, requiring additional searches
– The estate has complex assets requiring valuation
– Beneficiaries or executors take time to respond
Additional charges may apply in such situations.
